Gain mass or stay ripped

  • Dec. 4th, 2009 at 1:52 AM
Most of the girls I ask come to the consensus that skinny guys like me are not sexy at all.

At 5'10" - 150 pounds, I'm tall, slender, and long.

My body type allows me to lose weight and tone up relatively fast. I'm built like a soccer or basketball player. I'm at the crossroads of staying toned and svelte with a low body fat percentage or bulking up. It is NOT easy for me to get big and muscular but I've done it before. It takes 10 times more work for me to gain 10 pounds of mass and muscle than lose the same amount of weight and fat.

I would just like some female perspective on what kind of male body type they think is sexy. The type in my profile picture or big, toned muscles?

This is about as big as I can get. I fill out my shirts and they get tight around my body.

Or should I stay like this?

Any help would be nice. I guess I'm just feeling insecure about several girls telling me that I'm "too skinny..."

today a lightbulb clicked. it's 3 am right now. i took a nap for like 6 hours today due to being on geodon (mood stabilizer). I need my control back and i've been saying this for a while but it clicked after i ate oreos today (fml). I woke up today still weighing 113 lbs and i asked myself why am i staying at a stagnant weight? it's because i have beeen eating shit. where is that control that i had over the last 3 months where i lost 15 pounds. I need it back because i went up 3 pounds in like 2 weeks and this is just an absolute nightmare. i feel the fat. i hate how i look in clothes and i ate shit even though i feel huge. my geodon and wellbutrin combination had helped with the weight loss but i am so tired on this geodon that i think i need to cut my dose. i ate the oreos because i was so drowsy i wasnt even realizing what i was eating. that is not good. and obviously i'm paying for that with all of my self hate later. restricting under 600 cals for the next 2 weeks to see if i could get under 110.. good nightt girls

STRAIGHT A'S
Oak Park native Kathy Griffin has name-dropped her way to Hollywood's highest echelon.

Kathy Griffin is facing an existential crisis: Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List, the Bravo show that chronicles her exploits on the fringes of Hollywood, has lurched her onto fame's fickle A-list. The success that eluded her for 20 years as a character actress and stand-up comedian has now earned her two Emmy Awards, sold-out national comedy tours, a best-selling memoir and a legion of fans.

But what helps her fend off the cerebral calamity of fame is that her version of success is something of a parallel universe to the tabloid culture she follows.

He got the fuckking Nobel Peace Prize. I hope he wins an Emmy someday. )

Nas DUI Arrest -- Dashcam Footage

  • Dec. 4th, 2009 at 3:21 AM
TMZ has obtained police dash cam footage showing rapper Nas failing several DUI field sobriety tests back in September. He was cleared of the charges -- but does he look sober to you?

(If the video doesn't work, click here)

As we first reported, Nas -- aka Nasir Jones -- was pulled over in Georgia back in September after driving erratically. Cops say he was carrying a sack of weed and sporting a green tongue ... unfortunately, you can't see that part in the video.

But you can see Nas wobble during a balance test and take the wrong number of steps during the "walk the line" test -- yet still, authorities decided it wasn't enough evidence to convict.

What do you think?

The Thin Commandments

1. If you aren't thin you aren't attractive.
2. Being thin is more important than being healthy.
3. You must buy clothes, cut your hair, take laxatives, starve yourself, do anything to make yourself look thinner.
4. Thou shall not eat without feeling guilty.
5. Thou shall not eat fattening food without punishing oneself afterwards.
6. Thou shall count calories and restrict intake accordingly.
7. What the scale says is the most important thing.
8. Losing weight is good/gaining weight is bad.
9. You can never be too thin.
10. Being thin and not eating are signs of true will power and success.

SO UM THERE WAS A LOT OF STUFF GOIN ON WITH WALTER AND PETER IN THIS EPISODE I ENJOYED IT VERY MUCH ALSO ASTRID I LOVE ASTRID NEVER CRY AGAIN ASTRID ;(
BUT WHERE WAS NINA :( I MISS CHARLIE SIGH

SO I SAW SOME DISCUSSION SOMEWHERE WHERE PEOPLE WERE LIKE 'WHY DO PEOPLE LIKE WALTER IDGI HE IS EVIL' AND THAT JUST MADE ME SAD (HE'S MISGUIDED, SELFISH, AND DESPERATE, YEAH, BUT NOT EVIL--I THINK ~*WALTERNATE*~ IS GONNA BE THE EVIL ONE)
WHERE DO YOU STAND IN THIS DEBATE~

EDIT: ~THE MANY MONTHS OF OBSERVERS~ )
Below is a VERY LONG feature based on a Dec. 2 interview with Joss Whedon about "Dollhouse," "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog," "Glee," "Terminator" and various other things, conducted by Maureen Ryan of the Chicago Tribune. It contains an article and a chat transcript, and no spoilers to upcoming episodes besides information on the guest cast for the series finale. A great interview, and worth a read if you're a Dollhouse or Whedon fan, curious how badly a network can fuck with a show, or ever wondered the effect Hulu has on the pocketbooks of TV writers.

"Young woman with special abilities fights evil." "Vampire fights crime." "Cowboys and cowgirls (and a priest and some other people) in space."

Joss Whedon's previous shows may not have been "CSI: Des Moines" and they certainly never pulled in "CSI"-style ratings, but they weren't all that hard to explain in a 15-second promo clip.

Of course, in execution, the shows were so much more than a one-sentence pitch. The heartfelt and probing explorations of love, loyalty, betrayal, friendship and morality seen in "Angel," "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Firefly" meant that fans of those shows tend to be of the rabid variety.

"Dollhouse," which airs two deliciously twisted and well-acted episodes Friday and additional doubleheaders Dec. 11 and Dec. 18, is likely end up on my year-end Top 10 list. And though its audience is tiny (hence its cancellation; the show checks out for good Jan. 22), it has attracted some hardcore fans, inside and outside the Whedonverse. But the varied reactions of critics and viewers have been as difficult to summarize as the show's central concept, which concerns child-like "dolls" who are "imprinted" for various engagements -- some of them sexual, some of them not.

Joss: Fox sort of has that reputation for 'sexy' or 'edgy' or blah blah blah, but they don’t actually want that and it frustrates me. It’s the classic American double standard: torture -- great. Sex -- oh, that’s so bad! )

Back in August, we learned that Steven Spielberg had decided to remake the Jimmy Stewart classic, Harvey. We’ve heard little else about the film since then, aside from the fact that Tom Hanks didn’t want the lead role, and today it appears that we won’t be hearing much else for some time. Spielberg has apparently left the project after creative disputes with his latest potential lead, Robert Downey Jr.

I’m sad to say it, but I’m sort of glad this project fell through. A Harvey remake is nowhere near the list of things I want to see from Spielberg at this point, no matter how potentially great his interpretation may be. Downey’s involvement would have certainly been a plus, but otherwise there was little else to be excited about with this remake—though admittedly, it was still in the early stages of development.

Fox will continue work on the project, and they my try convincing Spielberg and Downey to jump back on at some point. If nothing happens with it though, I won’t be shedding any tears.

The big question now is what Spielberg may be up to next. His Tintin shooting is complete, and he’s certainly not lacking in producing gigs, but his directing future is uncertain. Back in September, he confirmed that his Lincoln project will definitely happen, and now he may actually have the free time to devote to it.
And let’s not forget that juicy Jonathan Nolan-scripted sci-fi film, Interstellar, that Spielberg was attached to a few years ago. It was never clear if he was going to direct that, but the prospect of a Spielberg-directed sci-fi film that involved wormhole travel, and alternate dimensions, already has me sort of foaming at the mouth.

Right now we don’t know anything for certain, except that it’s a very exciting time to be a Spielberg fan.

X Factor judge Louis Walsh has signed a deal with former contestants John and Edward, it has been announced.

Walsh, who mentored the twins during the ITV show, will manage their careers and is currently looking into record deals and TV possibilities.

He is "delighted" to work with them again but said it is "too early" to give any exact details on his plans.

The pair, whose entertaining performances divided the panel, were voted off the show last month.

Criticism

"Despite all the doubters, John and Edward proved themselves on The X Factor and I've always been convinced that they have a great career ahead of them," Walsh said.

Simon Cowell repeatedly criticised the twins singing on the show.

Their performances included a rendition of the Ghostbusters theme song during movie week and I'm Your Man by Wham!.

They were were eventually voted off by the panel, after Dannii Minogue, who had the final vote, chose to save Olly Murs.

"I'm delighted that I'll be able to continue to work with the pair. We're looking into music as well as TV deals but at this stage it is too early to give any exact details," Walsh added.

"Amicable agreement"

All X Factor contestants are contracted by Modest Management, who represent all 12 finalists until the show ends.

But Walsh has come to an "amicable agreement" with the company, which has allowed him to take the twins on.

Modest will continue to represent the other finalists as well as previous winners Leona Lewis and Alexandra Burke.

Walsh will co-manage the brothers with CEO of broadcasting company Global Group, Ashley Tabor.

"Jedward are this year's X Factor phenomenon and I'm thrilled to be able to put the scale of the Global Group behind them alongside Louis, developing what I am sure will be a great career for them both.

"It's an exciting future," Mr Tabor said.

and Kate Hudson shine at the premiere of Nine at London’s Odeon Leicester Square on Thursday (December 3).
Wearing gowns by Ralph Lauren and Atelier Versace, respectively, Penelope, 35, and Kate, 30, worked it out on the red carpet alongside co-star Nicole Kidman.
“I really love dance and I really love music,” Penelope told the UK Press Association, “but I have never been able to sing professionally in any way before this movie - only in my karaoke at home. I am very shy about singing.”

A Post Featuring The Amazing Bebel Gilberto

  • Dec. 4th, 2009 at 12:41 AM
Image and video hosting by TinyPic

First, a little bit about Bebel Gilberto :

Bebel Gilberto is the daughter of bossa nova pioneer João Gilberto and Brazilian singer Miúcha, but the 43-year-old New Yorker has slowly come into her own over the years, recording albums that fuse classic Brazilian pop styles with thoroughly modern, electronic instrumentation.

Her new record, All in One, mixes sumptuous traditional tunes, like a cover of her father’s “Bim Bom,” with inventive takes on tracks such as Stevie Wonder’s “The Real Thing,” which was cut with Amy Winehouse's producer, Mark Ronson.

A few interview questions from NYMag.com:

You also cover Stevie Wonder’s “The Real Thing,” which was produced by Mark Ronson. Any special attachment to that song?
Mais.......... )

A few of her songs you should check out :

The African-influenced “Aganju” from her self-titled 2004 album.....“So Nice” and the Bob Marley cover “Sun is Shining,”...the more rousing melodies like “Bim Bom” and “Chica Chica Boom”. You can listen to some songs at http://www.bebelgilberto.com/

Where you can catch her on tour :

Dec 5 2009 9:00P - Ogden Theatre Denver, Colorado
Dec 8 2009 8:00P - Belly Up Tavern Solana Beach, California
Dec 9 2009 9:15P - Henry Fonda Theatre Los Angeles, California

I'd heard this rumor for years, so it's nice to see that it's finally confirmed, even if it is after his death.

"Rumor no more! Are you standing? Then sit down. Are you sitting down? Then stand up, then sit down again, for there’s huge news to share: Michael Jackson is now confirmed to have written the music for Sonic The Hedgehog 3. There’s a magazine in France called Black & White. It’s Michael Jackson’s official magazine over there. Check out the cover:
baw
Looks great, right? Right.
In the latest issue, composer Brad Buxer said the following:
B&W: Can you clarify the rumor that Michael had in 1993 composed the music for Sonic 3 video game, for which you have been credited?
Buxer: I’ve never played the game so I do not know what tracks on which Michael and I have worked the developers have kept, but we did compose music for the game. Michael called me at the time for help on this project, and that’s what I did. And if he is not credited for composing the music, it’s because he was not happy with the result sound coming out of the console. At the time, game consoles did not allow an optimal sound reproduction, and Michael found it frustrating. He did not want to be associated with a product that devalued his music…
B&W: One of the surprising things in this soundtrack is that you can hear the chords from Stranger in Moscow, which is supposed to have been composed later…
Buxer: Yes, Michael and I had composed those chords for the game, and it has been used as base for Stranger in Moscow. [...]

So there you have it, Michael Jackson did, in fact, write the music for Sonic The Hedgehog 3, as the rumor had gone for so many years."

Musical comparison under the cut.
It don't matter if you're blue or white. )

i know this topic has been exhausted. i don't want to hear about how overdone this style is, i just want to find a specific picture from a few months ago. this is slightly vague but it was a girl with dark brown or black hair rocking a longer asym. i think she was standing outside up against a fence and may have been wearing cowboy boots. she has a cute vintage look going. i have searched to the end of the internet, but i'm pretty sure someone has this saved in their cute hair folder on their desktop.
